Ronnie Smith, fronting the Crickets - WDP 1959
I thought it was Elvis at a quick glance !!

................... I wanted to share this clipping I found from the Coshocton (Ohio) Tribune, of Texas singer Ronnie Smith fronting "Buddy Holly's Crickets" at the Winter Dance Party show in that city on Feb. 10, 1959. Frankie and Jimmy Clanton replaced Valens and the Big Bopper on the remainder of the tour, with Buddy's band headlining in a modified lineup. Dion & The Belmonts and Frankie Sardo remained in the show. It's rather bittersweet but heartwarming to see by this picture that despite the sad circumstances, rock and roll fans continued to turn out to scream and have a good time.
The Roses 1957 Clovis - In Colour
Bill Bailey - Ray Rush - Bo Clark - Robert Linville - David Bigham
Have you seen this before ? Do I have the names in the correct order ?
Editor's note: If you can help Frank, drop me a line. I'll send it to Frank !
A Message From Roddy Jordan, Australia's # 1 Buddy Holly Expert
Morning All I am hearing on a regular basis that Maguires husband and another bloke are putting out a book about her life. I am told the 39 photos she had of her and BH will be featured and they are being cleaned up as we speak. These photos were offered to a well known American a few years back but he would not pay the asking price. Anybody else heard anything? Roddy
I think, most of us know about this pic of Buddy & Echo.
Echo is more than a head smaller than Buddy,
but she balances it out a little with high heels.
What about this photo?
Seems to be the wedding of the couple on the right and to me it seems
clear that we see Buddy & Echo on the left.
The difference in size is similar, also in this event Echo wears high heels,
this time more festive than those on the first photo.
But who was the wedding couple?
Very striking is the almost missing chin of the bride.
Does anyone have an idea?
(I received this photo from various fans)
Roddy Jordan sent me this photo, but it was in a state of imbalance (as he mentioned) and a wrong date was on it. I did a photo editing and now I think it's a little better.
The photo above with the white ring reached me first,
sent in by Frank Merrison.

I think someone used a photo software and put the
photo into a so-called 'vignette'.
I used a software too and tried to reduce the vignette
