Trinity Smith will be running on February 3rd around the town of Oneida in honor of the memory of three Rock and Roll legends who died in a plane crash on that date in 1959. Ritchie Valens, Buddy Holly, and J. P. Richardson aka The Big Bopper all died when the small plane they were traveling in crashed. The plane took off from Mason City Airport in Clear Lake, Iowa around 1:00 a.m. the morning of February 3rd, 1959, and crashed 8 miles after takeoff, killing TBB, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the pilot Roger Peterson. Valens was 17, Holly was 22, and Richardson was 28 at the time of the crash.
This date and the run are very important to Trinity Smith and he would like for everyone to come out and show your support.
Word of his run has spread fast and he has even received contact from a man in Germany named Hans. Hans is a Buddy Holly fan and started the web site buddyhollylives.info back in 2005. Hans has added a link to a Trinity Smith page called “Running Man” on the site that contains photos of Trinity, information on his charity runs, and information on upcoming runs.
Trinity loves to hear from his supporters and he can be contacted by emailing him at runninghero@yahoo.com. You can also check out his Myspace page at myspace.com/ultramarathonrunner.

I'm also running in honor of three Rock an Roll legends Ritchie Valens, Buddy Holly and The Big Bopper Feb. 3rd 2008. They all died in a plane crash Feb. 3rd 1959. They say that's the day the music died, but the music lives on. They all died young: Ritchie Valens was only 17, Buddy Holly was 22 and The Big Bopper was 28. They will never be forgotten. My goal is to always be able to help others. I would be there for anyone I could.
Ich laufe auch zu Ehren der drei Rock and Roll Legenden Ritchie Valens, Buddy Holly und The Big Bopper am 3. Februar 2008.Sie alle starbenbei einem Flugzeugabsturz am 3. Februar 1959.
As you can tell I love running like one night I just felt like running and I had been up over 15 hours it was cold out the temp was around 30 but still yet a little after 11:00 p.m. I took off running and I had some snacks in my pack but where it was so cold my snack was almost like a rock but I eat it I needed some food, but anyway I would continue running.
When I stopped I had run 52.4 miles thats 2 marathons just for the enjoyment of running. I have even had to fight off sleep while running before I had got to a point where I just could not hold my eyes open and dozed off but just for seconds and during all this I never stopped running I would go on to finish my run.
During one of my runs the temp. was around 100 and the heat was getting to me but I just kept on running but the crew checked me out and said my blood pressure was a little high that I had to go to ER and have myself checked So hear they are wanting me to take a ride to ER but I would not take it but I did go to ER I run there it was about 1.5 miles a ways or so I had run 60 miles and they was nothing wrong with me but they held me in ER for a hour and a half I could have kept on running for many miles.
Since then I have become a stronger runner and I plan on running 200 miles non-stop in the next few years or so and of course as time goes on I plan to run even farther. I have learned though that the greatest victory in running isn't running the greatest distance or taking first place in a race,The greatest victory is when your running to help others, there is no better feeling in running than that.
When I say I would help anyone I could I mean that, I would help a stranger the same as if they was family and I hope there is many more outthere that would do the same. If you want to know anything else or if you just have a question feel free to ask and I'll get back to you soon as I can.
