I was there that night - February 2-3, 1959. It is burned in my memory.
I really appreciate what Hans is doing on this web site.
Bill Griggs said it best: "The Day the music CRIED!" And. Oh how we cried.
But, it's alive and well.

I am a 51 year old native of Lubbock, TX. My mother was friends with Buddy's
older sister, as a school girl. She told me of spending the night at the Holley
home, and seeing Buddy as a younger boy.
I met both of Buddy's parents in the late 1960's, while eating dinner with my
parents at a local hamburger place. They were both remembered my mother
and were very pleasant to meet.
Earlier in my life I was an airplane flight instructor. It is very obvious that the
pilot flew into a cloud layer and the aircraft picked up a load of ice. It can
happen very quickly.

I bought my first disc of Buddy Holly in 1958. The plaincrash was a shock.
But I enjoy until today his music. I try to burn all the music of him I can get

I am an Englishman living in Mainz. Ich bin hier mein deutsch zu verbessern!
Thank you for a fantastic load of information.
I originate from Liverpool and at a very young age fell in love with the sound
of the Stratocaster which led to Buddy.
I have played in many groups over the last 40 years and have never failed to
have a couple of Buddy numbers in the set-list. I was particularly interested to
learn about Tommy Allsup's contribution to It's So Easy. I have been wondering
about that for years.
I still play, do have a Strat of my own, but black with white maple neck, like Eric
Clapton's 'Blackie'. Only last night I was playing Maybe Baby at a friends house
and today I found your site. Keep up the good work.
Would love to meet up sometime, both to speak about Buddy and also improve my
German. Viel Glück und Grüsse

Hello, Just like to say how much I enjoyed looking around your site,
I was 11 years old when Buddy died, only just waking up to rock n roll.
A local lad nearby was so devastated by Buddy's death he tried to

Wie geht es ihnen Hans. (That is the limit of my German) I have loved the
music of Buddy Holly for the last 49 years.
My brother and cousin saw him live in Newcastle in March 1958, and as the
"keeper of the flame" felt I must visit your great site.
I see from your photos that you are the original "Brown Eyed Handsome Man".
Keep up the great work you are doing on Buddy's behalf and keep that flame
hot and bright!
